Federal state budgetary institution «Federal center of cardiovascular surgery» of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (Penza) provides high-tech medical care to citizens of Russia. Here are skilled professionals in the field of prevention, diagnosis and surgical treatment of the heart and vessels diseases. The center's medical staff includes cardiovascular and X-Ray surgeons, anesthesiologists and intensivists, perfusionists, cardiologists for adults and pediatric cardiologists, as well as diagnosticians and consultants.

More than 70 % of medical personnel have a qualification category. To date, more than 64 000 high-tech cardiac surgeries have been performed, including multivalve corrections, multiple bypass grafting, surgeries for left ventricular reconstructions, aortic surgeries, as well as unique combined and hybrid surgeries, surgeries for children with critical congenital heart defects, etc.

With the direct participation of the chief physician Bazylev Vladlen the first Russian transcatheter aortic valve prosthesis «MedLab-KT» was developed and implemented. Together with Technopark of High Medical Technologies, specialists take part in the preclinical phases of research, testing of stentgrafts, transapical valves, mechanical heart valves, cardiac pacemakers and other medical devices.

The institution's specialists have published more than 600 scientific papers (Hirsch Index is 13), as well as have obtained 15 patents and 1 patent application for invention. The center's doctors are active members of Russian and international professional Associations (Russian society of Surgeons, Russian society of Angiologists and Vascular Surgeons, Russian Society of Cardiology, Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons of Russia, European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), The Asian Society for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (ASCVTS), European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery (WSPCHS), European Congenital Heart Surgeons Association (ECHSA)). The Center's specialists are involved as experts in difficult clinical situations and take part in various scientific-practical conferences.
